Luxury Grand Tour of Morocco for 14 Days

Morocco, welcome! You will arrive at the Casablanca International Airport. Your driver and guide will meet you at the airport. They will then transfer you to your hotel for check in. You can relax and take a break from your hectic week or go on a short sightseeing tour of the city to get to know the area. Your riad includes dinner.

After breakfast, set out on a full-day tour of Rabat. Begin your tour by visiting the 2nd-century Chellah Negropolis, which was originally a Phoenician colony. Continue on to the Yacoub al-Mansour to see the King’s Masouleum, which contains the remains of many kings as well as the unfinished 12th-century Hassan Tower.

Enjoy a refreshing drink of water, then stop by a café on the riverbank to get a cup of coffee before continuing your sightseeing. Take a lunch break in the medina. Then, meet your driver to continue to Fez, Morocco’s cultural center. Arrive on time to enjoy dinner at the Riad.

Start your day with breakfast on the rooftop terrace. Then, head out to explore the city. Fes was founded in 781AD and is the largest urban area that has been completely car-free since. As you stroll through the streets of Fes, keep an eye out for the mule driven carriages that speed along the alleyways.

Continue on to the legendary tanning shops to witness the ancient methods of leather preparation. A variety of traditional methods are used to create high-quality Moroccan leather that is used in clothing and handicrafts.

The University of Al Quaraouiyine is a must-see when visiting Fes. It was established in 859AD. Take a break for lunch in the medina and then explore the city by yourself.

You can either go out on your own for a quiet dinner or join a tour to see three souks in the area and try traditional Moroccan street food. Visit a honey souk and enjoy a variety wild honey. Then, end the night with a visit at a teahouse.

Create your tour

The day starts with a drive through the vast Sahara Desert. Although the trip takes approximately eight hours, the many stops for photos and breathtaking views make it a pleasant experience. You can leave the asphalt behind at the end and travel into the desert in a camel caravan.

You will arrive at camp in the evening and be seated for dinner with traditional music. Admire the stars before retiring to your comfortable tent for the night.

Get up early to see the sunrise over the sand dunes. Spend the morning exploring the desert around camp after breakfast. Enjoy the solitude and peace of the desert by sandboarding down the dunes.

The early afternoon saw us hit the road again for a drive through Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs. This vast area is home to many abandoned Kasbahs and ancient fortified forts built from pise-mud. The locals rely on agriculture and nomadic herding for their way of living.

You will spend the night in the deep Dades Gorge. After a delicious Moroccan meal, you will be able to relax in a cozy inn for the night.

Start your day with an adventure-filled exploration in El Kelaa Mcgouna after breakfast. Rose bushes are used in cosmetic industries to make rose oil and rose water. The year’s rose production is celebrated in May with a Rose Festival.

Continue west to Ouarzazate. This is the « Hollywood of Morocco ». Visit the local movie studios and see the props used in famous films like Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia, and Game of Thrones. To learn more about filmmaking, visit the Cinema Museum. Then, end your day in Ait Benhaddou where you will find the most famous Kasbah in Morocco.

This UNESCO World Heritage Site, located at the foothills the High Atlas Mountains, is a stunning example of southern Moroccan architecture. This remarkable fort provides a fascinating look at pre-Saharan Earthen construction techniques.

You can add adrenaline to your afternoon by taking an ATV tour around the complex, to see the surrounding views and get a bird’s eye view of the city.

Start your morning drive back to Marrakech. You will pass the snowcapped Atlas Mountains as you make your way to the dry plains in western Morocco. You can trade the peace and quiet of the desert for bustling Marrakech.

After the drive, check into your riad to relax and take some time for yourself. Relax in the local hammam spa, or go out and explore the city.

After breakfast at your riad you will be heading out on a full-day tour through the Ochre City. To see traditional Moroccan architecture, and tile mosaics, start by visiting the Koutoubia Mosque. To learn more about Morocco’s significant Jewish heritage, stop by the Mellah.

Enjoy a mid-day meal on a terrace with views of the spice markets. Enjoy the tagine with refreshing mint tea and then go out to explore the souks or markets that are scattered through the narrow alleyways of the medina. You can find everything you need, including spices, clothing, household items, as well as souvenirs and traditional Moroccan gifts.

You can also find street performers, fortune-tellers and musicians at the DjemaEl Fna Square in the evening.

Marrakech, depart at 9:00 AM for the 1.5-hour drive from Marrakech to the nearby Berber village Imlil where you will meet your mountain guide. You will spend the day walking through rural Atlas mountain villages. Visitors who need assistance in trekking will have access to walking sticks, hiking boots and a mule throughout the day.

It is a 3-hour hike into the mountains that is moderately strenuous. However, it can be modified for difficulty or duration. As you hike, take in the stunning views and learn about the history and culture of the area. Enjoy a delicious home-cooked meal on the terrace of a family house with stunning views of Mt. Toubkal.

After a 2-hour hike to Imlil, return to Marrakech to enjoy dinner and a restful evening.

You can choose to start early in the morning and take a hot-air balloon ride over Marrakech’s palm oases or small Berber villages. Then, drive to Essaouira.

You can stop at an Argan oil cooperative on the way. This cooperative is a well-known name in beauty and cosmetic products. To extract the oil at 2.2 lbs (1 kilogram), 88 lbs (40kg) is required. This requires eight hours of labor from mostly women. The argan trees are being exploited due to high demand and labor-intensive processes.

After lunch, visit Val D’Argan for lunch and to taste regional wines. Enjoy a relaxing evening at the coast when you arrive in Essaouira late in the afternoon.

After breakfast, head out on a guided tour of the city’s historic quarters. The guide will take you to the medina and artisan cooperatives as well as the Jewish heritage sites. Essaouira has a relaxed, coastal vibe thanks to its beautiful blue and white architecture and charming beaches. Learn about the city’s Roman, Carthaginian and Portuguese histories.
