- The trip includes a hike in the High Atlas Mountains. The walk will last approximately three hours. Group abilities will be accommodated. This inclusion will be most enjoyable if you have a moderate level of fitness, and the right footwear and clothes.
- Morocco’s weather can be very extreme. The summer heat can make it unbearable, especially for people who are not used to it. Please consider when you plan to travel in Morocco. Layers are important for summer travel. Make sure to bring enough water, sun protection, and layers.
- Ramadan, an annual festival that lasts for a month, can provide a great opportunity to travel. However, some services such as cafes and restaurants may not be open during the day. Sometimes, travel can also be interrupted by events. The leader will adjust your itinerary to suit, so please take this into consideration when choosing travel dates. Detailled Itinerary
Day 1: Marrakech/ Ouirgane
Begin your Moroccan retreat by meeting with Marrakech’s welcome team at 11 AM. Then, travel from Marrakech to your hotel in Ouirgane. As you leave Marrakech’s bustling streets behind, take a deep breathe and reach the tranquil foothills of High Atlas Mountains. Ouirgane offers peace and tranquility and is a welcome escape to the chaos and action of Marrakech’s city life. For the next few nights, you can relax in your own private oasis. The retreat is a traditional Imazighen (Berber), locally-owned guest house. It’s full of character and small details that make a difference. It feels like a home away form home. It is hard to leave the bar, reading area, swimming pool surrounded by rosebushes, and backdrop of mountains and olive trees makes it difficult to even go for a day. Tonight’s traditional dinner will be served at the guesthouse. The aromas of lamb tagine and homemade bread, as well as oranges with cinnamon, fill the air.

We will be gathering insurance details and emergency contact information at the meeting and then we will set out for Ouirgane. Please let the hotel reception or your booking agent know if you will be late. Subject to availability, we are happy to arrange additional accommodation in Marrakech for you.

Day 2: High Atlas Mountains / Ouirgane
Eat breakfast today. Make sure to eat enough food to fuel your body for the half-day hike in the High Atlas Mountains. You will navigate through boulders and crags, run streams, and visit traditional Imazighen villages along the way. You will be able to take in the beauty and wonder that surrounds you. Red earth hills and valleys are covered with green pines, and terraced farms of almond, cherry, and apple trees. After your hike, you can learn more about the local Imazighen (Berber) family and enjoy lunch. Relax and enjoy the afternoon at the guesthouse. Enjoy the stunning views of Lake and Mountains while you relax and enjoy a delicious dinner.

Today’s hike will take approximately 3 hours.
Day 3: Ouirgane
This morning, you will have the opportunity to discover the secrets behind the delicious meals you’ve been enjoying over the past few days. Take part in a cooking class in the guesthouse to learn how to make Morocco’s famous tea using mint from the garden. You will also learn how Imazighen bread bakers make special types of bread called Tafarnout. As if that weren’t enough, learn all about Morocco’s famous (and delicious) tagine. You’ll learn all the secrets spices and techniques while it cooks outside on a wood stove. Enjoy the best part, eating what you helped to create for lunch. You can relax by the pool or under a leafy tree while you enjoy the rest of the afternoon.

It’s time for us to say goodbye once we reach Marrakech.
