7 days
Age 12+
Apr, May, Jun, Jul, Aug, Sep
Availability 50

This seven-day adventure takes you from the bustling markets to the Atlas Mountains. It also includes mountain trekking and city sightseeing. This exciting trip will take you through mazelike Marrakech, show you Amazigh (Berber), culture, and lead you to Mt Toubkal. You will stay in mountain gites or hiking huts and trek through stunning mountain scenery to reach the “roof of North Africa”. Your trusted crew and pack mules will help you get there. In just one week, you can see two completely different sides of Morocco.

This trip is a must-see

  • With your guide, climb the highest mountain in North Africa, Mount Toubkal. You will pass the Sidi Chamarouchou pilgrimage site on your way to basecamp. Then, get up early the next morning to climb the final summit.
  • You will experience adventure on your trek through the Atlas Mountains. Enjoy breathtaking views at every turn, as well as the stunning scenery (with views of the Sahara, Atlantic coast and mountain ranges on clear days) and a trusted pack of mules to guide you.
  • You can experience the local culture by hiking to your accommodation in a traditional Amazigh (Berber), village high up in the Atlas Mountains.
  • Take a walking tour through the Medina to see the sights, sounds, and smells of Marrakech. Your local guide will lead you to the best spots, and you’ll learn more about the culture of each place.
  • Marrakech offers plenty of time and other optional extras so you can explore at your pace and discover the areas that interest you most.

Are you sure this is the right trip for you?

  • Ramadan 2023 will be held from 22 March through 21 April. It can be an enriching cultural experience to travel during Ramadan. However, some services such as coffee bars and restaurants may not be open during the day. Sometimes, events can also disrupt travel plans. The leader will adjust the itinerary to suit your needs. However, it is important that you carefully consider your travel plans before booking travel during this time.
  • This is a trekking expedition. You must be fit and healthy to climb Mount Toubkal. Experience with mountain climbing and hiking is a plus.
  • The summit of Mt Toubkal stands at 4167m (13,671 ft) above the sea level. You may feel symptoms of altitude sickness at this elevation. For more information, please refer to the Essential Trip Information section titled “Medical and Health Information”.

This traditional village house has eight rooms and sleeps up to eight people. The rooms are decorated in traditional Amazigh (Berber), style and include low couches that can be used for sleeping, tables, carpets, cushions, and tables. It’s possible to relax on the terrace or under the stars during warm nights.
