Get breakfast ready before you head out about an hour from Marrakech to enjoy a day of hiking and cycling in the Atlas Mountains. After a brief safety briefing with your leader you can put on your helmet and get on your bike. You will ride along a smooth path before turning off the beaten track to ride through Berber villages. As you climb higher and more difficult trails, your adrenaline reserves will be tapped. After the ride, get back in your private vehicle and drive to Imlil. This Berber village is high up in the mountains. Take a relaxing walk along the shoreline. Today, we will continue on the road to Imlil, where we will hike approximately 50 minutes to Aroumd. Begin your day by driving along a twisty road through the High Atlas Mountains, Tizi nTichka’s highest mountain pass in Morocco, and down to Kasbah Ait Benhaddou, a piece of the 11th Century. This UNESCO World Heritage Site was a strategic site on the former caravan route linking Marrakesh to Sahara. It is also one of the few routes through the Atlas Mountains. It may be familiar to you from films and TV shows such as Gladiator, The Mummy and Game of Thrones. After checking in at your hotel, you can go on a walking tour of the fortified village Ait Benhaddou. Enjoy a break at Tawesna for fresh herbal tea and Moroccan pastries. This Berber teahouse overlooks Ksar Ait Benhaddou. This non-profit offers opportunities for over thirty women in the area to improve their lives.
